Online Training Kit

Inclusion & Accessibility

Introduction

Brief description of the Module

In this unit, each learner will be able to understand the concepts of accessibility and inclusion, as well as all the necessary aspects to be able to apply them in real situations. These concepts will include the ways of acting in the face of possible barriers that may arise for people with disabilities, knowledge of the characteristics of users, and how to transmit information in terms of the accessibility and inclusion strategies to be followed in shared green spaces.

Competence statement

When we talk about accessibility and inclusion, we have to keep in mind that both concepts are interrelated. The concept of accessibility must be treated as the method that will provide to the disabled person with a sufficient degree of independence and autonomy that will allow him/her to obtain the desired social inclusion and, consequently, social equality. In short, the learner must be able to empathise with all the situations and people in a place.
