“Green Accessible Urban transformation – Training for Adult Educators!”

Co-Education in Green project’s partners, following to the online Interactive Database and its useful contents, they are approaching the finishing line of an Online Training Kit for adult educators and trainers focused on community green training and guiding.

Co-Education in Green Online Training Kit!

The project’s consortium has put all efforts in developing a training course targeted at adult educators and trainers aspiring to lead their communities, into creating accessible green areas within urban environments, that will be available online. This training kit encompasses 7 most relevant topics aiming at enhancing community educators’ skills, such as:

  • Shared green urban area analysis, which focuses on functionalities, benefits, and biophysical elements of a specific green shared area.
  • Social, economic, and educational community need analysis, which focuses on identifying needs of local communities by different interested parties (learners, dwellers, residents etc.).
  • Community networking and engagement, which offers motivation techniques, negotiation principles, basic communication techniques to promote an idea.
  • Planning and objectives of the shared green area transformation, which presents educators means to define the objectives and the different steps leading to the green shared area transformation.
  • Collective responsibility & governance of a shared green urban area, this part focuses on shared green urban area management, actors, principles, and current management typologies of shared green areas.
  • Pedagogical competencies, which focuses on leadership of adult educators in local community (group-building, feedback process, participation, how to work in group), promoting EU values and community education.
  • Inclusion & accessibility, finally, which presents accessible learning environment, multisensory teaching techniques, analysis of green shared area accessibility.

This output is finalized and will be soon available for all interested users!

Additional useful material!

In addition, partners are about to define the methodology and based on it, to develop a Manual on how to create multisensory gardens, which will address adult educators and educational centres, and it will provide information and guidelines for processes leading to creation of accessible multisensory gardens. The goal remains always the same, to empower educators in helping local urban communities into transforming allocated spaces into green shared areas, within cities, accessible to as many people as possible.
